About Me
Hi, I’m Clara Mackinlay—an Antioch Los Angeles alum and somatic psychotherapist in private practice.
Not so long ago, I was in your shoes, feeling a mix of anticipation, excitement, anxiety, imposter syndrome, burnout, and confusion. I remember the highs and lows of graduate school, the hope I held for traineeship, and the disappointment (and frankly, the traumatic experience) it turned into. I constantly questioned whether I’d made a mistake and whether this was truly the right career path. I longed for a space to share openly with peers facing similar challenges and to feel a sense of understanding and support.
Before becoming a graduate student, I spent six years successfully growing and managing the private practice of a nationally recognized therapist, and today, I run my own private practice as an associate therapist (freedom!).
My approach integrates specialized training in Somatic Experiencing®, trauma-informed yoga, therapeutic touch techniques, Reiki energy healing, and psychedelic integration. I specialize in helping clients heal from trauma with a bottom-up approach, navigate life transitions, and build emotional resilience. Supporting future therapists like you through this journey with the understanding, tools, and practical guidance I’ve gathered over nearly a decade is my passion.
